Erjola Zhuka
Erjola Zhuka was born in 1986, in Durres, Albania. She works and lives between Florence and Milan. She studied Multimedia Arts and Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara (MS). She concluded her master's degree in Photography, at the IUAV University of Venice, with a one-year internship at the Cimenax studio in Lucca with the photographer Massimo Vitali and in Florence with the artist Robert Pettena. Her artworks have recently been exhibited in institutional exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Cavalese and at the Archaeological Museum in Pietrasanta, Italy. In 2020, she participated at the art residency at Art House School in Shkoder, Albania and, in the same year, she self published her first limited edition book Ode to my family. In 2021, she won the Kranj Foto Fest, International Festival of Contemporary Photography in Kranj, Slovenia and she participated at the Photo Open Up, International Festival of Contemporary Photography in Padua, Italy, in 2022. In 2020, she participated at the art residency at Art House School in Shkoder, Albania. Her works are included in the collection of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C., the Museum of Contemporary Art in Cavalese and many private collections in Italy, Paris, Athens, etc.
