Francesca Perrone
Francesca Perrone (b. 2002, Treviso) graduated from Liceo Artistico in 2021. She continued her education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, deepening her artistic research.
In 2024 she participated in the group exhibition Where the Wild Roses Grow at Prometeo Gallery in Milan. In the same year, she exhibited at ArtVerona and Artissima, consolidating her presence in the contemporary art scene. Her artistic practice develops around themes related to sexuality, eroticism and sitephobia, exploring the body as a manifestation of interiority and the most visceral drives. Through an ironic approach, she investigates the relationship with her own bodily identity, playing with symbolic elements drawn from everyday life. Among these, food-particularly fruits-takes a central role, emphasizing both the erotic dimension and the conflicting tension related to food.
Using oil pastel in an instinctive, sometimes rudimentary and experimental way, Perrone brings to life scenes that relocate and reconstruct subjects, trying to restore a comfortable reality to her eyes. This vision translates into an aesthetic with naïve features, inspired by the visual language of childhood. The use of a vibrant, almost childlike color palette further accentuates these tensions, reflecting the influence of her fondness for Sweden. The particular quality of Nordic light, which intensifies the colors of landscapes and architecture, inspires her aesthetic sensibility.
